Quote of the Day – May 1 2012

I acknowledge the privilege of being alive in a human body at this moment, endowed with senses, memories, emotions, thoughts, and the space of mind in its wisdom aspect.”
–Alex Grey

Not only do I acknowledge the privilege but gratitude flows through me for my existence. I worry at the word wisdom tho much as a dog worries at a bone. Wisdom sure feels a lot easier when dealing with the situations of others and so much harder when dealing with my own emotional storms. Perhaps that is not the time to expect wisdom. As long as I can check in with myself and know that I’m ok. That’s the funny thing isn’t it? I have had days when it felt like emotional meltdowns were happening all over the place yet each time I checked in with myself I was OK. I mean I wasn’t in any present danger. There were no immediate threats to my existence so in that moment things were ok. Perhaps five minutes later I’d be worried about some large unexpected bills or something about the kids and dogs but even then I’d check in with myself and I’d be fine. Could that be all that most stress encompasses, things in the future or things in the past and in the present moment fine??? Hmmm pretty interesting reality check. Since I came to that realization, I’ve been a lot calmer. I just have to keep reminding myself to check in.
Blessings, G

  1. Oh, I love the flowing mandala. Just beautiful. I am not familiar with Alex Grey’s quotes but I am somewhat with his art and it is FANTASTIC!

And yes, what you say is so true, in the moment it, whatever it is of A-ok. What a relief huh.

    1. Glad you like it, and the Monday Mandalas, i find myself conflicted a bit between doing so many Mandalas vs more representational art. the Mandalas flow and people like them but i still have about 50 tarot card pictures still to do 🙂 Namaste

        1. Well for meditation and for introspection I use both the Legacy of the Divine Tarot deck which is beautiful and resonates and the Thoth deck which has the deepest symbology of almost every deck I’ve seen. As influences for art tho mainly the Thoth and Rider-Waite deck along with my own inspiration… My tarot images are scattered throughout my galleries. I hope to have a new one this week,. Thank you 🙂

          1. I have spent time working with the Rider-Waite deck. I have a good friend that has created each image in stained glass! They’re breath taking. All are about the size of a regular door. She also has a doom of them all on the ceiling of her studio. You should hear the questions that come up for people who notice it, and then dare ask.

I have changed my meditation method a few times. For the last couple years I have been working with breath, and sound. Both have helped me to gently break through some of my more stubborn blocks. Have helped heal me to a place of COURAGE.

Thanks for responding. I look forward to more beauty from YOU.

    1. Thank you for stopping by.. Yep the site was totally clean (and swept) and the elves and tree spirits said you were a great neighbour. Come by anytime =)
