Quote of the Day – November 26 2012

“To win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill”
― Sun Tzu, The Art of War

Wise man, Sun Tzu. So many of our conflicts can be solved by avoiding the easy way out of open conflict and using both compassion and communication to win out. One of my favourite fantasies involves world leaders waking up in inside the head of the poorest person in the country they see most as an enemy. Even more perhaps as one of the poorest people in their own. They may gain true insight and true victories may occur.
What about inner battles? Can we win victories without fighting, there? I believe so and understanding how may pave our way towards understanding the avoidance of external conflicts. How? By listening to our heads to hear all sides of the inner conflict and our heart to know what we really want to do? Understanding and inner knowledge. Hmmm So practicing the compassion on ourselves that we wish to practice on others. What a concept 🙂
Blessings, G

  1. Six of Wands – The True Master of Leadership, inner and outer – appropriate for your reading today. We wouldn’t need our leaders if we could all become true leaders – just a dream perhaps…
