Snapshots and Tunnels (April 2017)

“I saw my earlier selves as different people, acquaintances I had outgrown. I wondered how I could ever have been some of them.”
― Roger Zelazny

At any given moment, we are both a snapshot and a tunnel. We are a snapshot in that the person who we are in this minute will not be who we are five minutes from now. The changes may be minor but they are present. Something may happen that will change an opinion, minor or major. Perhaps it may be something small like a food preference or perhaps something much more consequential. Our lives are after all a conglomeration of who we are in all of those moments perhaps extending even beyond our lifetimes in both directions.
We are tunnels in that in each present moment we connect all of our pasts with all of our futures in a constant dance of becoming.
