Butterfly Awareness

“Perfectly selfless, the beauty of it, the butterfly doesn’t take it as a personal achievement, he just disappears through the trees. You too, kind and humble and not-even-here, it wasn’t in a greedy mood that you saw the light that belongs to everybody.”
~ Jack Kerouac

Surrendering to change
Being while becoming
expansion without thought
of what comes next
or what came before.
Living every moment
in the present.
Effortless magick
Being one’s true self
beyond any illusions.
Letting it happen
without making it happen
It all sounds so simple
not a matter of doing more
but less.
Less thinking
Less Dwelling in the Past
Less second-guessing.

Transformation

“The most important thing to remember is this: To be ready at any moment to give up what you are for what you might become.”
— W.E.B. Du Bois

Transformation continues to fascinate me. On the one hand we all have infinite potential with infinite possibility to change and grow. On the other hand most transformations are surface. We can change our appearance, our lifestyle and our beliefs but all of those are masks that cover up who we are at our inner core. The best changes of course are the ones that bring us closer to that inner core, our true being. Yet how can we know what will do that unless we are willing to experiment and explore and allow ourselves to see which things may resonate the most.
So I resolve to learn and try everything possible. I will indulge in life’s banquet and partake of any outlook or activity that speaks to me and never refrain from trying something I never have before. We each owe it to ourselves to live a life of becoming until our time is done.

Of Butterflies and Muddy Water

“Muddy water is best cleared by leaving it alone.”
― Alan Wilson Watts

We humans tend to be a problem-solving species. When we see a mystery, a puzzle or something that doesn’t feel right our tendency is to work at it until we find a neat solution. Of course one of the biggest puzzles is our own being and why joy and fulfilment seem so difficult to come by. To render it more simply: “Why am I unhappy?” We try probing and prodding at this question and trip over our own feet. We work ourselves into a frenzy trying to find happiness and drive ourselves crazier and crazier. I have found that my happiest, most joyful moments have come when I have stopped worrying about whether or not I was happy and surrendered into the moment. It is almost as if I was pursuing an evasive butterfly that as I drew nearer, it would fly away but when I sat still it alighted on my shoulder. When we surrender our vision of what happiness looks like, we stand a better chance of not only finding it but gaining clarity on what was blocking our vision of it in the first place.

Quote of the Day – March 17 2012

“The disciple is not hankering for knowledge; he wants to see, not to know. He wants to be. He is no longer interested in having more knowledge; he wants to have more being.”
–OSHO

When I was younger and reading everything in sight, I wanted to know as much as possible. “Fill me up” The subject matter did not matter. All I wanted was more knowledge. Then as I entered young adulthood I began to realize the futility of that ambition. Our knowledge was always opening up further and there will always be more to know.
At that point my questions became deeper. I wanted to understand. I wanted to understand our purpose for being. I wanted to understand how such suffering can exist in this world and what I could to stop it and why only some people seemed to suffer? I wanted to understand other people as I understood myself. I wanted to understand how I came to be, how others came to be and why we all feel so isolated when we are part of the same thing? I wanted to understand the heart of another being. So many things i wanted to understand. Even when I thought that i had left the path i kept on it, still struggling to understand.
These days once again changing my intentions. Knowledge is awesome. Understanding is bliss. What I want more than anything else these days is to be. I wish to be myself in full potential. I wish to shine forth the divine spirit from within myself and inspire others to do the same. I wish to remove all the nonsense that blocks me from being myself and I wish to be in full alignment with the highest truth and the greatest good.
