The Life of Trees

“The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way. Some see nature all ridicule and deformity… and some scarce see nature at all. But to the eyes of the man of imagination, nature is imagination itself.”
William Blake

strange when you look at trees and meditate beneath them, they take on a life of their own.
It’s difficult to see two with their roots wrapped around each other without imagining them uniting sexually
In a state of eternal bliss.

tho it is in the glow of the sun set that I get the most enjoyment. As the light fades to be replaced by the different life of the nighttime

Muddy Water Clearing – Fragments and Contemplations

“Muddy water, let stand, becomes clear.”
–Lao Tsu

Sitting here in the woods under the twisted snake tree. It’s been a day of contemplation, meditation, walking and getting necessities and reading “Time Fate and Spider Magic” by Orryelle Defenestrate-Bascule.
So far it’s been a pretty amazing contemplation on time, fate, archetypes, esoteric symbolism and many other things written well with
Style and wit. I find myself taking notes in a poetic style that veers off from the book.
These few days are for letting the mud settle tho or at least churning it a bit for different colour and flavour
I let my mind wander where it will and in meditation see clear roads ahead and a non distressed lady in distress lying in the dirt inviting aid or discourse. Such are dreams.
I mentioned poetic notes and here in hope that those who read will enjoy I include them in this rather stream if consciousness ramble.

Relative speeds
Of children and trees
Of hunger and needs
Of eggs and of seeds
Mediate and meditate
And spend the timeless moment
Stem the tides of nature

Spider web and serpent time
Fate weaving its web along snake’s twisted corridors

I play in shadow in the long woods
Ritual dance among the trees and growth
Fire water and air bring the others
Who dance amid my own castings

my thoughts continue to form but some nice family time is happening. Tomorrow perhaps the dirt will settle and my rambling snore clear.
Blessings,
G

The Necessity of Wilderness

“Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out going to the mountains is going home; that wilderness is a necessity…”
― John Muir

Back in Washington State for the first camping trip of the year. The rain is coming down and yet we’re staying relatively warm and enjoying family time and nature. I’m looking forward to some quality communing and meditation tho my posts for the next few days might be a bit sparse. Still this quiet time is for recharging and contemplation so I can bring back the good stuff.
Blessings, G

Quote of the Day – August 17 2012

“Dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars and see yourself running with them.”
–Marcus Aurelius

A night of un characteristic fun. Starlight and campfires and discovering just where my son gets his opinionated side from. Tho I like to think I consider all sides, There is quietude out here. Muted voices from other campsites and a constant quiet rumble from the far-off motorway being the only sounds. Beauty of tree and wood, good friends and loved ones and in the sky a thousand stars.

Whitby Island Sunset

Quote of the Day – August 16 2012

“Walk with the dreamers, the believers, the courageous, the cheerful, the planners, the doers, the successful people with their heads in the clouds and their feet on the ground. Let their spirit ignite a fire within you to leave this world better than when you found it…”
― Wilferd Peterson

By nature I tend to enjoy solitude yet somehow in this online universe I find myself surrounded by so many amazing beings and I have been blessed with companionship. I like to think i have been living this quote because these the dreamers, the believers and the courageous are the ones who I find myself in the midst of daily. All my life I sought to find a place where I could live  what has become something of a motto to me “Shared joy is increased and shared pain lessened and between Facebook and WordPress I have found it and an unbelievably beautiful assortment of souls. Thanks to all those who dare to dream.

On a personal note, my blogging might be a bit more sporadic over the next five days or so as I am away camping in Washington State. I’ll try to post some pictures as well as any stray ideas or art that inspires me…
Blessings, G

Beautiful Sunset After Rainy Day

Seduced by the beauty
Of a fire-lit sky
Reflection pink
on the water
I sit here
as my spirit sails
In wonderment.
I’ve been taught
To live in truth and walk in beauty
Amazing aspirations
I appreciate how far I’ve come
Yet my journey has barely begun
Can’t wait to see what happens next
And yet feel no rush.
I love this
and the life, world and being that have
brought me here

Camp Fire Musings Redux

Sitting in front of the elements, even surrounded by them makes one naturally introspective-processing life with the intensity of a twelve-year old individualizing wanting to know why why the universe doesn’t work the way our parents told us it does-at least not our universe.-seeking the wisdom to be able to hold more than one reality tunnel at a time. So many paths to the truth. And yet so many feel the need to judge another’s path or elements of it.
Om Namah Shivaya. Shri Kali Ma. Our father who art in heaven. Live in truth. Walk in beauty: In Lak’ech Ala K’in.
Hare Krisna. Love, Light Blessings. Amazing words. Do they loose their meaning by repetition ? Or do we imbue them with meaning by how much we feel them, mean them, live them
Vibrating words and sounds. Sounds have meaning and affect consciousness– we, the sounds, light, colour -all energy– let’s vibrate towards a higher being, matching that of love / Prem . I ramble on but then I always have-perhaps when I run out of words I will find Whittier, peace. The fire crackles. What would I like to burn Away? Consume from my being? The water fills in renews all gaps. I feel gratitude and blessed
