A Structure Missing Scansion

“A happy life is just a string of happy moments. But most people don’t allow the happy moment, because they are so busy trying to get a happy life.”
— Abraham

Collect the moments
of joy and pain
Press it into your book of memories.
Each one a brick in your structure
Each one a stick in your construct.
The pain blocks can be beautiful
for they have made you strong
Build on your survival.
May the joyful moments be the windows
with which you view the world
and may the view propagate.
Anger will not bear weight
so use it lightly
Forbearance will get you through
Let others in
to see what you build
You never know what they may contribute
what moments they will add.

I Lived

“he asked if i wouldn’t like to live completely without problems, say in greece maybe, nice climate, everything provided? i say: “when we find out what we are actually doing and who we actually are, that is the point of living…it may be only a few seconds…a few seconds of significant actions, out of a lifetime…”
― William S. Burroughs

What does it mean to live beyond existence? So much of our life is spent in day to day existing, some of it mindful but a lot of it routine. Every so often in retrospect we either look back at a period of our lives and think “There I was happy, There I lived” or perhaps the even rarer “There is nothing else I would rather be doing at any time or place. I am happy. I am alive.” Those moments make all the rest worthwhile. I know that choice can make all the difference. If we could figure out what gives us joy and purpose and focus on doing those things than we have accomplished something truly worthwhile.

Time’s Currency – A Consciousness Stream

“The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.”
― Henry David Thoreau

“Time, Time, Time see what’s become of me” I have donated my time and spent my time, sometimes even squandered it, some of it on stuff that mattered, some only mattered at the moment…such currency we have. Time knows no class and it is never really saved or sequestered merely spent differently…
There is a relative aspect to time. When we don’t enjoy what we’re doing there seems to be much more of it yet when we love our existence and want to savour each second, it seems to vanish… still I would rather have those flowing golden moments than an eternity of dross… so I guess when it comes to time spent, (time served?) Those who have had the most joy are the richest… I wish you all many moments of bliss and a joy that will bring meaning to every moment.
