“Perplexity is the beginning of knowledge.”
–Kahlil Gibran
How many sources say the same thing. We don’t learn by knowing. We don’t learn by reading the same ideas over and over again and we don’t learn through comfort. No! We need to be challenged, we need to be moved outside of comfort. We need to be perplexed and confused, befuddled and frustrated, and from there and our surrender to it do we find our school.

“I prefer to be a dreamer among the humblest, with visions to be realized, than lord among those without dreams and desires. ”
–Kahlil Gibran
When I create images, they become something of a waking dream. I compose elements and backgrounds and slowly an image takes shape. I find they and perhaps myself exist in a form of heightened reality. Yet I know that I too exist as a dream taking shape. There too I may be the dreamer as well as the dream and perhaps also my dream may be formed by a dreamer beyond myself. –g a rosenberg

““Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding… And could you keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles of your life, your pain would not seem less wondrous than your joy”
― Khalil Gibran
and so I find my shell breaking. Feeling pain and working on finding the good in it. If not the good, at least trying to find meaning from what i feel wound me. I find the pursuit of this leading me into a profound understanding of sorts. -GAR

Quote of the Day – August 31 2011
“Friendship is one of the most important things in life. True friends increase your joys and celebrate your successes. They are there to nourish your soul and bring harmony to your life. When you face difficulties, they provide you with support and comfort to press on. True friends are aware of and accept your many failings. But when it is required they are also your harshest critic. They are unafraid to say the things that you need to hear because they care. “
–Kahlil Gibran
