Quote of the Day – June 24 2012

“And if I claim to be a wise man
It surely means that I don’t know”
— Kansas, Carry On My Wayward Son.

and sometimes my own ignorance screams at me way too loudly and comes thru no matter how much perspective I give.
Knowing without Knowledge
Knowledge without knowing
and the I don’t know cries out very loudly
At least I am not enough of a liar to ever get to
I don’t care…

Morning Glories

We started out to build a garden
Now all we have’s the weeds
you’re growing like a wild flower
and I don’t have the seeds
you’re taking all the sunshine
you’re cutting off my air
Can I have just a drop of water
I cry out in despair

I thought you were an orchid baby
gave you my love to grow
turns out you’re more like morning glories
now I’ve nothing to show
Can we weed our garden please
both have room to expand
I didn’t think i’d need to be transplanted
that wasn’t in my plans
If we both were roses lover
then we’d intertwined
support each other in our journey
it would be both yours and mine
perhaps i never realized
that the garden belonged to you
I need to die or find some sunshine
and start to grow anew.

Chaotic Mandala by G A Rosenberg

Johnny Wisdomseed (Redux)

Long have I wandered
with this sack of seeds
gathered over lifetimes
Longer still shall I continue
searching for fertile ground
in which to plant.
Occasionally I stop to
entertain a questioning mind
or overturn a cherished notion
that has run its course
I joke, I challenge, I plant a seed
staying just long enough
to see it take root.

Other times I cast seeds to the wind,
A poem left in a bar
A  Chalk picture on sidewalk
A story written in spiderwebs
or interwebs
With each of these
I send a prayer
that they will land
and spread and grow
providing sustenance for many

Not every seed will thrive
nor every thought take hold
neither life nor wisdom provide that certainty
nor is every seed viable

Still I travel
with song and with seed
until I stop.
When that day comes
scatter me on the wind
Another idea
floating on the breeze

Gorilla Dreams – A Poem Found by A Rabbit Hole – Redux

Ever feel like your spirit
echoes a sound that you
haven’t quite heard before

Like reading a book
for the fifth time
a new character enters
that has always belonged

New ideas wafting
their way home
the nest having been kept warm,
inviting and open to change

new directions given the prayer;
new games finding their player
new connections, new reflections
no piece of the puzzle exists as just blue sky…

See you in Wonderland

Six of Swords – Redux

The Ferryman

Mute, I watch your arrival
You climb onto my boat
unsure as you press this coin into my hand
You may smile or give a small laugh
but that stops when you notice
my eyes and my silence.

We start off
You seem surprised by the number of
rocks and debris in the water
You wonder about safety.
Oh Dear one
I know the way
as only one who has scraped
his bow on every single obstacle can
After awhile you start to know the signs
the childhood baggage, the failed marriages
Every time you denied the spark
in yourself (or in others)
they’re all here
and like I said
I know the way thoroughly

Though each route is different
I have known much the same
the odd twists and turns that obsession
and self-importance can place in one’s path
Intuition guides me through
the straits of old frustration
and intellect tells me
how deep they go.

You leave the boat
relieved of coin and burden
ready to survey your new landscape.
I push off.
You turn back to ask what they all do
but I am gone
Sailing. Home..

Six of Swords by G A Roseberg

Finding My Voice

Finding my voice
It had gone undercover
in some village somewhere
It was pretending to belong to a goat herder
who found himself surprised
by utterances he had never imagined
and words that he had not used before
Still my voice found quiet wisdom
and the knowledge that silence need not be broken

From there my voice joined a protester
demonstrating, demanding, decrying
What exactly I am not sure
When asked, the next guy over just said
“The government” nodded sagely as if that
said it all and went on shouting
Still my voice learn that when joined with others in common purpose i
it grows stronger…

When next noticed, my voice
was chanting mantras
as an aspirant focused inward
approaching a stillness with words
First it echoed then grew ever more silent tho the chanting continued
Stilled with the knowledge that it could transport and transcend
my voice found its way home…

Free Palestine

Here is a poem written by a friend of mine from http://palestinerose.wordpress.com:

We had them…
Tall trees that gave us shade
From your scorching hate;
We go on, now,
Half dead
And half bled
Existing
In the burning sunshine
Of your apartheid hell.

We had them…
Tall trees that gave us shade
From your scorching hate;
We go on, now,
Half dead
And half bled
Existing
In resistance —
Free Palestine!

It’s amazing sometimes how long it takes to realize injustice. This is a first attempt by me to illustrate things of a political nature. Tho to me what the Palestinians have to live with every day goes beyond politics. I realize there are no easy answers yet sometimes our hearts speak loudly that things must change and something must be done. One way or another Palestine must be free.

Ace of Wands – Redux

The Dragon seed glows within me.
Inspiration from the dawn of time
Filling me with ideas and power
almost beyond my capacity to bear
I will take up the wand
and channel all that I receive
transmute and transmit
sending it outward
The fire rises within me
ever growing growing
until it spills forth
in creative ecstasy
Something new enters the world
In the distance, a star glows

Reworked Tarot Entry – Nine Of Wands

At Dawn they come
I hear the drums beating
as they plan their approach
I alone remain
to meet them
I cannot give way
Will this battle be the one I cannot win?
NO!
I will not surrender
My gods watch over me and so much has been lost
The drums echo louder as I kneel in prayer
Leaning on my staff for support
My company of nine
eight well used and on e freshly carved
tell of other times
that I came through
Drumming louder, drumming sronger
and voices heard
“The dr will see you now
you may go in”

Rutilated Quartz

Stone threaded through stone
other vibrations intertwining with my own
energizing me
unblocking blockages
Each person or event adding more to the mixture
pulling me from what I was
to what I slowly become
Energizing me with their reality views
Thank you for threading through
and becoming part of my being
as you have allowed me
to become part of yours..
