Quote of the Day – August 2 2012

“Our lives are stories, and the stories we have to give to each other are the most important. No one has a story too small and all are of equal stature. We each tell them in different ways, through different mediums—and if we care about each other, we’ll take the time to listen.”

― Charles de Lint

Create with me a new tomorrow
Let’s build our story
and don’t worry about leaving out the bad parts
Everything balances
and good and bad relative measures at best

Sometimes the most amazing stories we tell don’t come from narrative. They come from jokes made, kindnesses shown and songs remembered. Possibly not as easily put together as linear narratives but then as complex as we tend to be, how can any story be other than holographic or fractal, the whole contained in the part but oh so many parts. We carry each other’s stories inside of us and occasionally make them our own, at least in the telling. What new stories do you have to tell today? I don’t have to ask if you’ve heard any good ones. If you’ve been listening, you have
Blessings, G

Tarot – Queen of Wands

Queen of Wands by G A Rosenberg

I’ll play you out tonight with another quote by Mr DeLint:

“The thing to remember when you’re writing is, it’s not whether or not what you put on paper is true. It’s whether it wakes a truth in your reader.”
