If Someday Never Comes

“You spend your whole life stuck in the labyrinth, thinking about how you’ll escape it one day, and how awesome it will be, and imagining that future keeps you going, but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present.”
— John Green

I used to know
that someday I’d be happy
all the problems I had
would be gone
and joy would reign
No matter how bad things got
someday they’d be better
yet I found myself drowning
and crushed by my life
relationships failed me
and I returned the favour
yet still I held onto the dream of
someday

It got to much
and I gave up on someday
That day I needed freedom
That day I needed joy
That day I needed to love myself
I started working on it
and making changes
because the future was too far away
and the dream’s were ashes
I had sunk too low
and lost my dream of someday

Now I know
that happiness is a choice
and freedom is perception
Joy comes from within
as does love
It took a lot of effort
yet the today I’ve made
beats every dream of someday

To Everywhere From Forever

“Come from forever, and you will go everywhere.”
― Arthur Rimbaud

Beyond forever
lies the infinite
where anything conceived may be formed
We play there in imagination’s memories
as we construct sea foam realities
that live outside our dreams.
We enter through being’s void
and in dissolution we create
Next door a universe exists
for we dreamed it into being
and we straddle both
and so many more
through the hole
through beyond

☐ Think (Think Outside the Box)

“Begin each day by telling yourself: Today I shall be meeting with interference, ingratitude, insolence, disloyalty, ill will, and selfishness— all of them due to the offender’s ignorance of what is good and evil. That people of a certain type should behave as they do is inevitable. To wish it otherwise were to wish the fig-tree would not yield its juice.”
— Marcus Aurelius

What is your reality box made out of? Some boxes are made of iron and nothing can get in or out. Whatever is in there will stay the way it was even after the world turns to dust around it? Those who keep their views of reality in a box like that will never have to be concerned about change or growth. It is a prison cell for their evolution with no time off for good behaviour.
Some boxes are made of reinforced cardboard. Anything that is within can be carried and until the box is unsealed, its contents will stay secured. They can’t stand a lot of rough handling tho. If something outside the box wants in, it will get there eventually. Someone who keeps their reality in a box like that is capable of change and might even enjoy new things. If only they could get through all that damn packing tape.
For me, the perfect box would be made of some kind of permeable plastic. It can be easily opened and its contents exchanged and there is air and room inside for them to breathe. Oh they may get stale after awhile but that’s ok, most viewpoints do when confronted by the outside air. The container only starts to smell bad if there is unwillingness to exchange the contents for others that work better. A good cleaning every now and then helps.

Intertwining Unrealities

“… the world is a fabrication of the will. Art—always—requires visible unrealities … Let us admit what all idealists admit: the hallucinatory nature of the world. Let us do what few idealists have done: seek unrealities which confirm that nature.”
— ~ Jorge Luis Borges

Realities intersecting in hallucinatory ways
stories conflict as bubble truths touch
The truth lies in the crossroads
yet the trickster god holds sway there.
His sleight of hand confusing those
who wish to learn and
adding certainty to those who don’t
Artists fantasies intertwine between the two
interweaving different sets of facts
Sacred angels partying with bearded horned ladies
as dwarves and griffins dance
in technicolour
as the skeptical unicorn stares at bankers’ lusts.

Imaginary Exercise

“Imagination is the real and eternal world of which this vegetable universe is but a faint shadow.”
— William Blake

Close your eyes and rest. See the door and walk towards it. There is writing on the door. What does it say? What kind of handle does the door have and what happens when you open it? That’s it. Open the door. What do you see? What colours are there? What sounds? What smells? Are you indoors or are you outside? What does the sky look like? What is the song that you hear in the background? Take a few steps and explore. What do you see? Have you been here before? Who or what is that coming towards you? Take all the time you need to explore and realize this world may be as real as the one you left from. You can return to this one any time you like or go to another. They are countless.

We Contain Worlds, Yet They Are Our Worlds

“There is no reality except the one contained within us. That is why so many people live such an unreal life. They take the images outside of them for reality and never allow the world within to assert itself.”
― Hermann Hesse

Does anyone here feel that what they perceive is reality for anyone else but them? The more I interact with others even the ones that I am closest to the more I realize we all hear things, see things and react to things according to our own filters. We can stretch and imagine what reality is being perceived by them but still we miss the mark from time to time. That’s ok though. As long as we realize that and know that none is experiencing things as they are to anyone but them, we can handle misunderstandings. It is only when we start to believe that we have the ONLY clear line amidst everyone else’s static that we miss out. Wars and Divorces have started over less. Friendships and relationships estranged. The best we can do is become as clear as possible both in our perceptions and our communication. Also, we need to remember to always always always enjoy the show.
Not that I’m saying objective reality does not exist, merely that we are unable except possibly in very rare moments, mystical and peak experiences ever to know it. That too is subjective tho.

Allowing Fantasy

“If one is lucky, a solitary fantasy can totally transform a million realities.”
― Maya Angelou

Hoping where hope is not possible
can change everything
knowing a better way can exist
even in the darkest hour
can make living tolerable
A dream of freedom
when one’s life is chains
can make one fly
to many lands
pushing joyfully against
the binds
knowing that it can happen
Knowing that love exists
when stuck among loathing
can keep the dream alive
yearning for the day
when one’s heart is answered
Knowledge in the face of ignorance
that something imagined can be real
can build the dreams
and break the chains
and open the heart
to new being.

Exploring Your Space

“Each person, a gateway to another universe…we walk in and through as well as with each other both inviting and sharing in exploration and creation”
— Randall Wolfe

You invite me with your eyes and smile and I step through to the universe you inhabit. It is a bit unsettling how well I know it yet so strange at the same time. Colours and sensations that I take for granted seem to have acquired new hues.. THe streets we walk down have an unaccustomed rhythm tho I have been there many times. They run to your beat not mine… a bit slower and flavourful. I feel so close to you right now wrapped up in your reality as soon we will be wrapped in mine. I look forward to see what universe we shall build together….

Denying the Real… A Thought Stream

“Reality denied comes back to haunt.”
― Philip K. Dick

Hidden thoughts, hidden actions…the refusal to realize what is in front of us…we insist that 2 + 2 = 5, that we are better than we are, happier and more together and a string is pulled, and it all starts falling apart… that secret heart under the floorboards… the raven crying out nevermore… Poe understood reality denied … we all learn it in time… as we build up our house of cards… the way I feel when I am with him / her surely means they feel the same… its ok if I do it this once.. nobody saw me… its ok… but it never is , just our denial grows stronger as we add another brick…yet we can blast through these bricks… if we don’t the universe is kind enough to do it for us…tho it is a cruel kindness that leaves devastation in its wake..yet from the devastation we rise naked, vulnerable with denials and lies revealed…then we can choose how to clothe ourselves again…

Random Thoughts of Reality, Pain and Love — Consciousness Stream

“I’m not crazy about reality, but it’s still the only place to get a decent meal.”
― Groucho Marx

Reality has its moments…the whole gamut of reactions, sad, mad, glad, joy around every corner but gut wrenching pain as well… not only feeling our pain but the pain of those we love and the more we open ourselves to love the more pain we feel… the more joy too and those moments, those special moments where everything makes sense and the universe fits together we need to hold onto particularly at the moments when we half convince ourselves that we are alone and want to turtle-like pull into our shells of pain… when we feel hurt by those who lash out with their own pain because hurting us gives them a way of externalizing it. It is a strange way of saying ‘I love you’..this projectile compassion…perhaps it is a step to the real thing…we can do it too.. project the love we feel onto them letting it spill outwards…being a mirror not of the injury but the health…
