Find My Flow and Be…Thanks Jack

“Hold still, man, regain your love of life and go down from this mountain and simply be – be – be the infinite fertilities of the one mind of infinity, make no comments, complaints, criticisms, appraisals, avowals, sayings, shooting stars of thought, just flow, flow, be you all, be you what it is, it is only what it always is – Hope is a word like a snow-drift – This is the Great Knowing, this is the Awakening, this is Voidness – So shut up, live, travel, adventure, bless and don’t be sorry – Prunes, prune, eat your prunes – And you have been forever, and you will be forever, and all the worrisome smashings of your foot on innocent cupboard doors it was only the Void pretending to be a man pretending not to know the Void.”
— Jack Kerouac

Rage, rage against creation
feel the sensation
consternation
that I’m not the person
I thought I would be
out of my tree
I spend so much time
worry about who I am
I forget to be
walking around
finger on the script
non-descript
senses stripped
of all sensation
emotional constipation
the flow has stopped
and I still go
forget what I know
pretend to be
but not to be
still I forget
all the regret
and let it go
find my flow
find my free
and learn to be…

Sometimes the only way to get through the bullshit is by not paying attention to it.
Blessings, G

Mirrored Thoughts — Some Perspective Doggerel

“I saw all the mirrors on earth and none of them reflected me.”
— Jorge Luis Borges

I reflect on my reflection
and realize no connection
to that pasty pale complexion
that I see
I remember me as younger
and my body lean with hunger
yet the belly hanging under
won’t agree
Still the years have been much kinder
then I deserve, its a reminder
of the truth I’ve been a finder
and I seek
yet the body has a balance
mind and spirit more a challenge
that I chose, that was my talent
I won’t weep
I’ll put it all together
make my whole self much better
to this challenge that I’ll weather
I will leap

Leap of Faith ( A bit of Doggerel)

“Try a thing you haven’t done three times. Once, to get over the fear of doing it. Twice, to learn how to do it. And a third time, to figure out whether you like it or not.”
— Virgil Garnett Thomson

The step never taken.
The dream never tried.
The belief never shaken
I cannot abide
The leaf never crumpled
The chance never won
How could we leave
so much left undone?
To stay at home
out of worry or fear
rather than taking the journey
the chance I revere.
Without that leap
of faith divine
our lives ordinary
just filled with whine.
So I will drink the potion
I will take the chance
for my soul is restless
and it will advance.

Sense Nonsense Doggrel

“The pendulum of the mind oscillates between sense and nonsense, not between right and wrong.”
― C.G. Jung

The unforgiving reason
the cursing of because
the illuminating question
seeing the future that was

Finding sense in nonsense
and somewhere in between
I seek to find you seeking
the me I’ve never been

No reason in my rhyme
the clock is unforgiving
my verse is unrehearsed
is there life in living?

The dream that I had waking
the distance seen up close
the paradox unraveling
along the path I chose

Yet in this senseful nonsense
the centre may be still
I may find you peaceful
if that is my will

Mirror Me Whole

<h3“You use a glass mirror to see your face; you use works of art to see your soul.”
― George Bernard Shaw

Looking in the mirror
making changes in my soul
tired of feeling like half a man
gonna recreate me whole

Make mistakes along the way
cause that’s just how I roll
seeking out my true will
make a diamond from this coal

giving my confession
clearing up my stuff
telling the truth about
the times i acted rough

seeking resolution
isn’t all that tough
Learning not to demand
more than is enough

shaping up my practice
finding a new way
of being with the infinite
living for today
