Quote of the Day – June 3 2012

“Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously.”
― Hunter S. Thompson

Perhaps the above quote should not have been chosen right before I started reading about the ‘zombie’ attack in Florida. Life continues to impress me with just how strange it can be. I mean too bizarre and ludicrous to take totally seriously and never ever what we were prepared for.  I have always felt that I could go into denial either of the strangeness around me or of life itself or develop a sense of humour. I choose laughter. It is what has kept me going at my worst and has enhanced my life immensely at its best. To me humour has always been a symptom of both spirituality and wisdom and have never been able to accept either without it.

Blessings, G

  1. Oh how I agree with you here. Humor is so important in my life. My husband and I laugh all the time. A good laugh is as healing as a really clear breath meditation.

I read that FL story. Then looked up pics and OMG!!! I heard it was drug related but who knows???

Life is indeed strange as can be. Last night when I was reading in the Tao before I fell asleep, in the back where it explains certain things in each chapter, he tells a story about a little boy who’s mom tells him to stop sneezing. The little boys reply was brilliant. He said, “I’m not sneezing, IT’S sneezing me. I just love that. As I move along in life and with my writing work I find that it is also true for me. Many times, LIFE, IT, has been living me. It makes me down right giddy to think of it that way. What an adventure!

    1. Perhaps life itself is a dance between us and the spirits that guide us the small I and the big I =)
If so may the dance continue and the wild rumpus start =)
