A Night’s Dream

“For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream”
.- Vincent Van Gogh

The Night sky brings dreams and hunting
We run the forest as wolves
bringing down our prey
and eating in the moonlight
We howl our victory
and make love until dawn’s arrival

Dreams of Co-Created Love

“Sometimes you wonder, in an interconnected universe, who’s dreaming who?”
― Grant Morrison

I dreamt you last night
a complement for my longing
someone enough like my differences
that we could speak for hours
and different enough from my likes
to keep the magick going.
You dreamt me
a shadow of your desire
reaching out into three D or more
a refuge for your heart
We awoke alone
the sheets thrown about
and the memory of sweet sour taste
in our mouth
waiting for the next time we dreamed together
yet who created who?

Night in the Dark Forest

“We scarcely know how much of our pleasure and interest in life comes to us through our eyes until we have to do without them; and part of that pleasure is that the eyes can choose where to look. But the ears can’t choose where to listen.”
― Ursula K. Le Guin

In my dreams I enter
the dark forest where I walk at night
Shadowed beings greet me
At first fearsome
I realize that the treasure they guard
are parts of myself hidden away.
Treated kindly beneath the trees
they reveal their gifts
The trick is to show no fear
or admit it if they do.
Honesty frees them of their burdens.
There are some paths
yet too dark to face tho
Someday I will accept their gifts as well.
Light beings live in the forest as well.
Their gifts of song and insight
I accept gladly
For each one protects me
Some in ways I have yet to understand
At first light I leave
I thanks all I’ve met
and prepare to sleep to waken

Quote of the Day – January 14 2013

“We must never stop dreaming. Dreams provide nourishment for the soul, just as a meal does for the body. Many times in our lives we see our dreams shattered and our desires frustrated, but we have to continue dreaming. If we don’t, our soul dies, and agape cannot reach it.”
― Paulo Coelho

Sometimes dreams can bring up things that we never imagined. We see ourselves in a way that we never have before and new potentials arise. Other times our pasts enter into the fray and we see scenes that we revisit and gain a whole new understanding. Sometimes we’re given a vision and we wake up knowing that we have to see it through. It could be something as mundane as asking a certain person out or going to see a movie. Other times it can be something life altering where a new goal arises…that we feel compelled to see through. I’ve been lucky in that i have followed those dreams into heartbreak, into madness and occasionally into love. The most important things I’ve learned about dreams is to never run away from them…

Quote of the Day – January 7 2012

‎”“Sometimes you wonder, in an interconnected universe, who’s dreaming who?”
–Grant Morrison

Sometimes you know we dream each other. What we see of any other person can only be the tip of the iceberg, no matter how open or honest they may be. So we fill in the blanks, edit in traits that we find evidence of, and remove that which we find it too difficult to look at. Pretty soon, we may find a point where the dream of the other person becomes more “real” to us that we may be incredulous when they act as themselves. “You can’t do that. That is not how you are”

Quote of the Day – October 3 2011

“When you have come to the edge of all the light you have
And step into the darkness of the unknown
Believe that one of the two will happen to you
Either you’ll find something solid to stand on
Or you’ll be taught how to fly!”
–Richard Bach

Off to Connecticut soon for the memorial service and to see family. Once more a farewell tho I feel in ways my mother’s presence closer than I have in years. Today I went to Shine, the tea restaurant and wellness place that I go to for Kambucha and yoga. The owner put her hand on my arm and said “You’re happy right” and I realized she was correct.
Mourning feels somewhat farcical when I realize that my mother now exists without the pain that has been part of her existence for the past 10 years. Unencumbered by the physical, she now embarks on whatever the next stage may be and knowing my mother, she travels first class (but then when it comes to spirit, don’t we all?)
Can I share this with my family? They showed so much fear in the hospital, of sickness and death and wish to mourn in the traditional Jewish way (the irony of it being called Shiva does not escape me, every culture shares connections) I honour their grief and the expression of it tho find elements of it uncomfortable, i guess lessons to be learned for all of us. Namaste
