Quote of the Day – July 28 2012

“Let my worship be within the heart that rejoices,
for behold, all acts of love and pleasure are my rituals.
Therefore, let there be beauty and strength,
power and compassion, honor and humility,
mirth and reverence within you.”
― Doreen Valiente, Charge of the Goddess

“What do you believe in?”, she asked

“You mean politically?”, I asked with a smile. I wanted her to work for this one. A complicated answer deserved a considered question at the least.

“I mean spiritually. Do you believe in God, Jesus, Allah, Buddha, nothing?”

“All of the above and many others and perhaps none of them.”

“Huh?”

“You’ve heard me talk about the elephant. That combination of all partial viewpoints that each of us have. The truth that lies beyond any one person’s or one group’s understanding.”

“Yes, I’ve heard you mention it. The five blind guys and all that… But then who do you pray to?”

“I pray to the universe, to the guiding spirit that resides in everything and that everything resides in. I pray to god and I pray to goddess and I pray to the union of them all. I pray to all the different aspects of the universe that became personal deities for individual or for groups. I give homage and respect to them all because they are all part of the bigger picture. At the same time I acknowledge that no one has quite the correct view because by its very nature, the ultimate deity, that universal entity has to be bigger than us all. I also acknowledge that I may be wrong and their might not be any guiding force. That doesn’t feel likely for all kinds of reasons but I acknowledge the possibility”

Her brows furrowed and I wondered if my babbling was losing her interest. “Tell me about goddess”

“She is mother who nourishes us and soothes us, she is lover, she is confident, she is wonderful and terrible, storm and temptress, daughter and wrath… she is Venus, Kali and Nuit. Think of every female archetype you can think of and she is at once all of them and none of them”

“You have some strange ideas.”

“Or perhaps they have me.”
Blessings, G

How I See Her As I Lay Sleeping by G A Rosenberg

Quote of the Day – June 28 2012

“Art! Who comprehends her? With whom can one consult concerning this great goddess?”
–Ludwig Von Beethoven

I seem to be spending this evening reflecting on the goddess force and how she has manifested in my life.
Through my mother who didn’t always approve of how I lived my life and was never shy about saying exactly how and why she didn’t approve yet always told me she believed I could accomplish whatever I wanted in my life. She made it a rule that no matter how wild her wayward son got, she would never let my antics throw her. I miss her but feel her presence often
Through my stepmother who has tried as hard as she can to civilize me and what good manners I have I owe mainly to her. She has endured the most from me but somehow manages to remain supportive.
Through my older sister, who saw me as a wild free spirit (her words). I always wondered if I was a free spirit what that made the rest of my family but love held my tongue there
Likewise with the Goddess I feel the female force of the universe willing to set me in line yet always loving and healing and always showing me more grace than I probably deserve.
Blessings, G

Goddess of Many Moods by G A Rosenberg

More Moods Explored by G A Rosenberg

Tarot Card – The Moon

I heard her calling me last night
Her voice the whisper of
the waning moon
casting shadows with her secrets
raising doubts from seeds left buried
all so long ago

She lured me with her promises
Secret knowledge offered
Illusions granted
Calling me through castle doors
Strange creatures howling point the way
I beguiled go

She showed me things that couldn’t be
Demented Nightmare’s gift
monstrous awakening
She took from me my secret fear
replacing shadows in its stead
I trembling go

and yet to reach the morn
through Hecate’s night reborn

The Moon by G A Rosenberg

Quote of the Day – December 18 2011

“The mark of your ignorance is the depth of your belief in injustice and tragedy. What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly. ”
–Richard Bach, Illusions

I may have used this quote before but it definitely relates to the ongoing discussion in my being an that i find myself involved with online. A friend posted a video of Charles Manson asking “Do you feel blame?” “Are you mad?” and then gibbering, A few people reacted to the use of Manson himself. Reacting to his crimes and to his being… My friend pointed out that the understanding that their reactions could bring them was worth seeing the video. I find myself agreeing.
More and more I believe awareness to be one of the main points of existence, Awareness of the self, its actions and reactions, otherwise why the variety of life that we see. Beauty, Ugliness, Disgust, Hate, Love, Murder, Lust, Rape, Support, Embrace, Dance, Hug, Fart, Defecate, all part of existence as would be each thought, emotion and action, each records in the witness. Any judgement we make on it all we do with imperfect awareness of the big picture. Who knows what soul-agreements may exist between murderer and victim, raper and rapist, lover and lover. We can be aware of our reactions, our beliefs and our judgements, i see them as being our progress reports. Our reactions serve as a way of introducing our self to our self…
Namaste, G

The Show went amazingly.

I sold one of my pictures (which was awesome) and got many positive reactions so coolness all around

She who lifts me up and saves me from the fear of this world,
Kali Durga, I bow to you again and again.”

Sri Kali Ma by G A Rosenberg

Quote of the Day – August 6 2011

“Let us repeat the two crucial negative premises as established firmly by all human experience: (1) Words are not the things we are speaking about; and (2) There is no such thing as an object in absolute isolation.”

Luminous Being by G A Rosenberg

Manifestation by G A Rosenberg

Behind Her Eyes by G A Rosenberg

Behind her eyes
I see the fire
Inspiration and intense heat
Cleanse my imagination
and temper my weary spirit
Burn away lost answers
to expose meaning
Burn away meanings
to expose all.

Behind her eyes
I hear water
life-giving endless oceans
accept my aching thirst
and sustain my being
to swim in her depths
is to be lost
yet to float
is to be reborn

Behind her eyes
I feel the air
Buoyant uplifting currents
teach me flight
and awaken my vision
My journey within her
is limitless
My journey without her
could not exist

Behind her eyes
I taste the earth
Beautiful succulent plants
feed my soul
and nourish my heart
I grow content
to tend her fields
I grow inspired
to transcend

Behind her eyes
I find the night
Fiery consuming suns
dissolve my being
and leave only bliss
With her I am nothing
With her I am all…
