Quote of the Day – May 28 2012

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
-Maya Angelou

Silent child stares
unable to speak what he sees
nighttime terror grows

Smile my angel
Your eyes speak the many tales
that never pass lips

Held tight within me
Magical stories hidden
Take my offered key

Just for a second imagine being locked away from your creativity. Unable to express the pain or joy that we each store up in a lifetime by word or deed.  It’s there to be expressed yet for some reason it cannot be.  How can we help another find their voice?

Quote of the Day – May 23 2012

“Ninety-nine percent of who you are is invisible and untouchable”
— R Buckminster Fuller

We are the ninety-nine percent? Ah wouldn’t that be an interesting essay. Seeing the 99% of us that we can’t touch rebelling against the 1% on the surface that seems to make all the decisions. Occupy our existence. YES.
Of course not even our psyches occur in a vacuum. Still how much of ourselves even surface to the point of awareness? Meditation elicits and integrates more for sure tho at any point we contain multitudes we’ll never meet, the would have been us’s and the could of been us’s .
Still what amazing raw material to recreate ourselves from… If there is a quality that we admire or that we crave we can know or at least surmise that it exists somewhere inside of us and evoke it. What awesome potential, knowing that each day we can become, or perhaps be becoming..

Daily Becoming

Quote of the Day – May 19 2012

“My eyes were glued on life
and they were full of tears.”
― Jack Kerouac

Man raises his hand
A smaller being cowers
tears fall from my eyes

A country insists
only some people matter
tears fall from my eyes

when someone forgets
they’re a human being first
tears fall from my eyes

Pollute and Consume
Wound the heart of our mother
tears fall from my eyes

When despite it all
I realize love still exists
tears fall from my eyes

Haikus are wonderfully clearing for the mind, kind of like five finger exercises for the piano

I have felt a bit disjointed as my writing may convey–Communication’s a funny thing init– Still feels like i’m transitioning from something to something tho it could just be the upcoming eclipse..

Still in talking to you I have found a new venue for communicating with myself for which I thank you.

Quote of the Day – May 15 2012

“Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way round or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.
Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend.”
–Bruce Lee

Tonight seems all about water and reflection, meditation and thought, floating letting things come to the surface. This quote fits the image, The Hanged Man from the Tarot, a card I relate to more often than not. Odin hung himself upside down from the world tree to gain understanding (returned with the Runes better than the runs for sure) Be like water, let come to the surface come including silliness and sorrow…Sorrow for wrongs done this 64 years past and since..silliness because we humans become ridiculous..squabble over silly things and want control…so many people wanting to control so much when what they really seem to need is control of self or at least enough loss of control to flow…like water..
Water goes where it wills and seldom stays, it becomes stagnant that way and indeed my thoughts may slow and even stop but soon the flow continues unhindered…I’ve forgotten how long I’ve been on this tree…I need real eyes to realize–Dancing with my own development –part of the flow i need to let go — i forget my body is there –collecting consciousness in a jar, no it was a door but the door’s ajar or was…I left a note before I came here for my friends– “I hope you don’t mind but while you were away i took your limitations. It didn’t seem like you needed them anymore” — tho some of them couldn’t let them go thus we cling long after we need to…tho perhaps a reason, a season passes and something new begins..it gets cold here at night — I wanted to do something for my friends — I am so grateful for all of them..Lucky to have had so many great things happen and even the hard things, the lessons i’m grateful for too….

So here I’ll hang for as long as I need to and then…well I’m not sure

Hanged Man by G A Rosenberg

Quote of the Day – April 23 2012

“You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”
― Richard Buckminster Fuller

OK the systems (political, economical and spiritual) in place now are pretty unworkable. More and more people are seeing naked Emperors (The Emperor’s New Clothes – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). What do most want to do? Tear down the wall, forcibly rip apart the old systems and leave in their place…well…surely almost anything must be better than this, right?
I like R Buckminster Fuller’s idea of building a newer better model but I believe we better get working on it because the old ones built on lies and greed and paranoia are falling apart quickly.)
Of course many people are working on new perspectives and new ways of being (Thrive Movie Going Free | Thrive among others). Tearing down old ways is relatively easy, building something new, now that’s a challenge. One I believe we’re all up for.

I hope everyone had an amazing Earth Day and got the chance to be out in nature for a bit today. I attended an amazing meditation group meditation workshop here in Vancouver run by Brad Morris of Cowabunga Meditations (http://cowabungalife.com/). Of course any  day that starts with me walking the dogs out in the backyard barefoot by the garden tends to be pretty great. Much gratitude.
