Baying abated
He longs for lunar response
eager, ready, still

Solace After Solitude

“You cannot find peace by avoiding life.”
― Virginia Woolf

Too long I hid away
thinking that in solitude
I would discover meaning
I learned much
but the very things that brought me here
that I escaped
stayed unresolved
Tho I lived in peace
I was not peaceful
Too many others carried with me
in my heart.
I spoke to their echoes
but only I echoed back
Now I return
to resolve the past
to dissolve the lie
of my old lives
Only this way can outer peace join inner
and fractures start to heal.

Words As Art

“I shall look at you out of the corner of my eye, and you will say nothing. Words are the source of misunderstandings.” -from the Fox-”
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

If I could paint you a picture with words
If I could let you see the sunrise
of my meaning
and realize
it may be different from yours
but our hearts still beat together.
Please don’t take absolute definitions
from what I say
you’d never do that from my painting
merely see interpretation and energy
and that is what I give you
We may never understand each other
if words get in the way
let my heart speak to yours
Hang me on the wall of memory
and observe my meanings
like art

Revisit What May Have Been

“But the past cannot be changed, and we carry our choices with us, forward, into the unknown. We can only move on.”
― Libba Bray

The past created me
and I return the favour
I add colours and textures
that at the time got left out
of the memory stream.
I can see why poets call it golden
so much of it seems blinding
and tho it has led me here
it is the paths untaken I notice
Oh the present is nice enough
with many paths and songs yet unsung
The future comes ever closer
yet in my mind I travel down
those roads long shut down
and I see possibilities.
There must be a way
to connect what could have been
to what will be
the moment ever changes
and the spiral still unwinds…
