Random Thoughts – March 2015 Edition

“We all think we know who we are and what we want from life, but when it really comes down to it, I’m not really sure we know anything except that we’re all trying; we’re all surviving; we’re all living.”
— Z.M.

“The truth may be puzzling. It may take some work to grapple with. It may be counterintuitive. It may contradict deeply held prejudices. It may not be consonant with what we desperately want to be true. But our preferences do not determine what’s true.”
— Carl Sagan

We can and do create our realities. We cannot create anyone else’s, we can merely influence them. This both gives us responsibility and gives us hints where our responsibility ends.

People want desperately to believe in the inhumanity of others. Given a chance many will try to demonize rather than understand and define as evil what they don’t understand or what they don’t like. Evil is seldom the enemy that ignorance is.

We all have parts of ourselves that are unlikable. If you are determined to dislike someone figure out what it is about them that you dislike, No one is representative of any group except themselves.

Understanding has its good points but there are drawbacks as well. When we truly understand someone it is awfully difficult to hate them. Also to understand someone is to know something of the pain they have felt in their lives. Most of us can barely handle our own.

At no time in known recorded history has mankind been so aware of his flaws. I am not sure if this has made us better or rather given us a keener eye for naming the flaws of others.

Hope is always better

Quote of the Day – June 11 2012

““Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering its a feather bed.”
― Terence McKenna

Bits and Pieces tonight.. Random Thoughts… Wool gathering from the abyss…

NOW is the eternal Phoenix ever reborn from its own ashes as its consumed….
Universe, please let me be the person my friends on the internet believe me to be…
How Freudian is it that Jack had a beanstalk and Alice had a rabbit hole…Both of those are coming of age analogues as well as Campbell mono myths…and both involved either a climb or a leap of faith…

Sometimes the best way to clear your head is by breaking a taboo, even if its one of thought…What is it that you have been taught culturally or tribally not to think about or question? How does reality change for you if you question it? That in itself  becomes another rabbit hole or beanstalk trip doesn’t it?  And so the reality kaleidoscope turns…

Blessings, G

Flow of Random Thoughts at a Celebration (Consciousness Streaming Through)

Sketching sketchy thoughts
details hazy
not all clear but not all there
present in a real way
but not for unreal things

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Finding a fun thought
to tickle my muse
tho humour’s defused
as I light the fuse

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Catching the verbal wave
looking for something slick to stick
still the water’s nice
in this consciousness stream.
so I’ll dive right in

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I wonder if James Joyce
use to sit with words dancing in his head
connecting dot and syllables as life
went on through and around him

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Spirit is here
yet when is it not

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Art finds Art
as heArt finds heArt

You can be by yourself in a crowd yet not feel lonely. Warmed by the good feelings that come when strangers embrace. The music also glows with a special organic warmth.

May every being constantly feel as blessed as I do right now.

Random Thoughts – Jun 06 2010

If mature wisdom resembles being too tired
then what does innocence resemble?
Waking up after a night’s deep sleep
the day opened wide before you
as if it were the first day
each thing seen with new eyes
as if never seen before…..

I aspire to wise foolishness
the two words are not mutually exclusive. It takes some truly wise
to play the fool
and it takes someone
who has swam in the sea of folly and foolishness to find wisdom…
At this point I am neither wise enough enough to be foolish
nor foolish enough to be wise…

In the end it was not that my voice needed to be found
I just had to be still long enough to hear it….

Somewhere an amateur writer
writes of a lone Rose in the Garden
who speaks of what its like
to be the one left on the vine
as all her companions
were picked……..

If the words that you want do not come
then delight in the ones thad do…
many times they know what needs to be said
all we can know is the wanting…
