I love the tranquility of this picture, but I also love the light coming from the underside of the octopus. It’s sort of like the octopus is the light and the focus, the one to follow despite Neptune being in the picture. Maybe it’s saying don’t follow false Gods but follow what is real.
I like your take on it tho I think the three deity images in the picture, (The Octopus, Neptune, and Olokun (above Neptune’s head) are all aspects of the same deity (the triangular imagery you mentioned)
