““The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can’t be any large-scale revolution until there’s a personal revolution, on an individual level. It’s got to happen inside first.”
― Jim Morrison
I am the rewritten song
taken from a melody
written long ago
adapted for modern times
charged with modern crimes
yet totally my own.
I am the movie
based on a book
taken from a legend
told around a long ago campfire
yet still myself
no matter how many changes ensue.

Thank you. I love your comments =)
it is easy to comment on your work – I really enjoy it
Here, here… to the above comment…! 😉
=)
You are kidding me. Jim never said such things. Right ?
It’s quite likely that he did. Regardless of his levels of inebriation and experimentation JM was brilliant with poetry written in the style of Rimbaud and a pretty thorough grounding in philosophy. Whether he said these words attributed to him or not, its still a pretty great quote 🙂
I agree but I still think it’s an easy way out
