Trapped In Dim Twilight

“There are dead stars that still shine because their light is trapped in time. Where do I stand in this light, which does not strictly exist?”
— Don DeLillo

Trapped in dim twilight
I seek..
I don’t know what
motivation for my actions
some shadowed satisfaction
traction to gain reaction
or purpose and reason
the treasons that I inspired
in the days when I was wired,
not tired
like now in this light
feel like giving up the night
trying to make things right
but can’t
because the stars went out
what’s that about?
I used to shout
at injustice
but like the stars
that part has died
the days I cried
and for what?
I’ve made it this far
I’ll become my own star
with light forever blazing
I’ll create a new life
find some new strife
it will be amazing.

Stars Fall and Rise

“Whatever causes night in our souls may leave stars.”
— Victor Hugo

Watching stars fall
burning through the sky
extinguished dreams and hope
burned out years before
yet the sky remains undiminished
Infinite light amidst the darkness
for as stars fall in their cycle
they rise as well
in new arrangement.
My star self may someday burn
extinguished in its spot
through darkness tho a new light shines
life’s flame continuing.
— G A Rosenberg

Yesterday the first proof deck of the Waking Spirals. To hold the deck in my hands was and is an amazing experience. Oh there were corrections to be made but the simple material existence of something that I have created and only yet seen on screen is amazing!!! Pretty soon I will be able to announce the availability of the deck (and book) for sale. Keep watching 🙂

Starlight Wishes

“There wouldn’t be a sky full of stars if we were all meant to wish on the same one.”
― Frances Clark

Everyone wishes on the North Star
or the first one seen that night
They wish and dream
most for the same things
They wish money or love
wealth and health
and while gratitude
i feel for the measure
of those gifts I have
or may have
My dream is different.
So I found a new star
and wished for some of its light
I wanted words and visions
to flow from my hands
as the star flowed into me.
I wanted to wake
the slumbering heart
of those who wouldn’t see
I yearned for stories to tell
in ways that would be true
I would be Prometheus
and carry the light home
I would not hide it
nor horde it
but give it away
in art I made
and words written
So I will wish on a farther star
and take what may be given.

Walking Under Your Starry Sky

“Reach high, for stars lie hidden in you. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal.”
― Rabindranath Tagore

Last night I dreamt
I walked under your starry sky
Awestruck lit by your being
the dimmest corners of my soul revealed
I felt my heart roused
and looked within
and you were there as well.
I sang you golden memories
and melted in your being
Tonight let me be your sky
and we will dream together
new beginnings as old as time
Eternal memories yet to be written.

Quote of the Day – August 28 2012

“You – you alone will have the stars as no one else has them…In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night…You – only you – will have stars that can laugh.”
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, El Principito

I consider myself fortunate to have stars that laugh, cry and love…each one lit by people who have touched my being at one time or another. Aleister Crowley channeled that “Every man and woman is a star” and so I believe that they are.. Stellar beings who light up our sky and who’s orbit we are fortunate enough to be able to find ourselves in for moments or lifetimes…

The above may sound corny to some. But still it seems in our day to day existence it becomes so easy to look down on people, suspect their motives and otherwise belittle them if only in our own minds…but if we can see them and ourselves as stars burning brightly through the heavens then even the ones who irritate us, the ones who piss us off continuously become something magnificent

It might not make it easier to like them or what they represent but it lends perspective.

Quote of the Day – August 17 2012

“Dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars and see yourself running with them.”
–Marcus Aurelius

A night of un characteristic fun. Starlight and campfires and discovering just where my son gets his opinionated side from. Tho I like to think I consider all sides, There is quietude out here. Muted voices from other campsites and a constant quiet rumble from the far-off motorway being the only sounds. Beauty of tree and wood, good friends and loved ones and in the sky a thousand stars.

Quote of the Day – October 30 2011

“For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.”

    –Vincent Van Gough

Rambling Thoughts
Finding the Present as the Past’s Future and the Future’s Past yet living in the moment. Have I become that aware of time’s illusion or have I lost sight of the NOW.. I keep arriving only to find i’ve never left, a new consequence of the home within.
Glowing edges have given me the stars and the knight sky. I dream yet awake and I walk on. I become aware of new potentialities and perhaps they become aware of me.
