Reveal / Conceal

I reveal my dreams but not too closely. First the veils need to be separated. It takes a keen eye to see through the illusion to what lies beneath. Yet in
what I choose to hide, I reveal much. Symbols that I may only partially understand dance through me and things enter in that others see that were hidden to my eyes. Thus, I reveal even as I conceal and say much when I believe myself to be the most silent. In this I am not that different from most, we all have our tells yet perhaps in my exhibitionism I am more open than most.

Loosen the Chains

In our human experience there is a limit to what we can know. Oh I’m not talking about peak or mystical experiences where the whole picture for brief instances lie open before us but the rest of our lives, the parts where we chop wood and carry water. Yet so many seem happy with these limits, they learn a brief bit and believe they know it all. They cement this with conviction, certainty and faith and use these weapons to take on all comers.
In any fight between what I know and what is possible to learn I will cede the battle always. I want to know more and to understand more and if that means sacrificing what I know now for something better than so be it. Have to at my convictions. Throttle my faith and stamp on my certainty. I will always thank you for it. If you can loosen my chains and expose me to the infinite of the unknown, you will have my eternal gratitude.

Primal Invocations

The way that Charles de Lint describes forests is the way that I talk about archetypes including the god and goddess archetypes in myth and ritual. For every one there is the archetype that we relate to in our head, with our personal association and the way we see the force and then there is the primal figure and symbol, that which is both inherent in its being and the collective view of everyone who contemplates the archetype. Thus when we invoke Pan or Isis or Legba or pray to Jesus or Jehovah, we are first connecting to our personal image of that deity and through that we reach the central figure. The more awareness of who we are invoking and how they are seen that we have and the clearer our vision than the closer we get to the root of that being. This is as true of places as it is for god forces and symbols.

It’s Madness

Madness is not always such a bad thing. In a world where people are becoming busier and busier running on the hamster wheel trying to live up to the necessities of job, family and social lives. So many of us keep trying to do more and more while holding accountability for less and less including their own peace of mind. It’s insane and those who refuse to keep running on the wheel and wish to be accountable for what they do and who they are are considered mad. Especially if we want to schedule less and do less in order to make this so. As the King of Siam said “It is a puzzlement.” The world won’t end if we have less meetings. Life won’t stop if we miss one dinner or one engagement.
I would rather enjoy my madness at leisure than keep hurrying towards insanity.

Cutting Time

One cut to distribute
This moment can be shared
yet it drips
past participles dangling
as I hand off
the golden shining
to future endeavours.
Meaning what?
I used to know
yet uncertainty is the gift of age
as less becomes clear.
Another present of tense time.
Yet through uncertainty
things become clearer.
We make up the future from present concepts
We alter the past through present awareness
and the dripping continues.
We make memories that haven’t happened yet
and contribute to present joy
Another cut and the scene stops
The actors leave the present stage
and the future commences.

Morning Surrealism (or why people shouldn’t talk to me within 10 minutes of waking up – A Surreal Consciousness Stream)

There are mornings when my brain wakes up manic. If someone speaks to me (or texts me) I may start a babbling monologue as my brain wakes up, loosely playing off what they say but making it strange. It is the operating system booting up tho this morning I got a bit poetic…
