Quote of the Day – September 29 2011

“Man is a creature who walks in two worlds and traces upon the walls of his cave the wonders and the nightmare experiences of his spiritual pilgrimage. ”
–Morris West

Emotions tend to come in waves and tides much like the ocean. You can feel them if you are paying attention. Grief seeps in at the strangest time, a slow seeping and then all of a sudden you’re struck by the wave and it hurts before it rolls back out leaving you a bit more empty than you were before. In some ways it clears our inner cave. In others it just whitewashes the walls.

Quote of the Day – September 28 2011

“To hold our tongues when everyone is gossiping, to smile without hostility at people and institutions, to compensate for the shortage of love in the world with more love in small, private matters; to be more faithful in our work, to show greater patience, to forgo the cheap revenge obtainable from mockery and criticism: all these are things we can do. ”
― Hermann Hesse

If I need to be eaten by emotion may it be by Love and Joy rather than anger, bitterness or fear. Now I gain insight into why i find it better to let emotions flow through rather than provide resistance. In the very word, when there is resistance, something cannot move.. I want all emotions to move. When they don’t, the body reacts in a way that shows dis-ease, particularly emotions like anger and fear..–GAR

Infinite Love Mandala by G A Rosenberg

September 27 2011

And so…
Today my mother went into a hospice. I had been there in Florida for the past week with my family, watching her slowly deteriorate. Now at least she will be made comfortable. Even tho I realize that it is merely the body that dies, a setting aside of clothes that no longer fit and that soon she will be much happier and free of physical pain, saying goodbye or even abientot has been harder, even than I thought.

Quote of the Day – September 26 2011

“Knowledge is learning something every day. Wisdom is letting go of something every day.”

– Zen Proverb

Passing Thought – Love can shine through any amount of interference
whether internal or external which is but another
face that internal wears.

Within  by G A Rosenberg

Quote of the Day – September 25 2011

“Don’t be dismayed at goodbyes, a farewell is necessary before you can meet again and meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.”

-Richard Bach

and maybe I’ve been given solace
and maybe my heart renewed
Maybe a seed’s been planted
night brings the morning dew

I could spend time mourning
for opportunities washed away
moments and opportunities wasted
the things I didn’t say

or I can celebrate life
and what you gave me
celebrate dreams
I’ve yet to dream
Celebrate times we had together
not worrying what they mean

Awareness by G A Rosenberg

Quote of the Day – September 24 2011

““Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding… And could you keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles of your life, your pain would not seem less wondrous than your joy”
― Khalil Gibran

and so I find my shell breaking. Feeling pain and working on finding the good in it. If not the good, at least trying to find meaning from what i feel wound me. I find the pursuit of this leading me into a profound understanding of sorts. -GAR
