Quote of the Day – June 13 2012

“The higher the sun ariseth, the less shadow doth he cast; even so the greater is the goodness, the less doth it covet praise; yet cannot avoid its rewards in honours.”
–Lao Tsu

Wow an entry that definitely doesn’t write itself. Feeling the sun energy or perhaps the need for it of late…Definitely a bit of Obscureness…The clouds are in the way. Not that I don’t have an underlying sense of the rightness of it all. Things unfold as they will yet knowing that and feeling it are two different things. Still meditate more and fret less  or as a friend of mine says “Shut up and do your fucking yoga”. Almost always good advice I find…

Fractal clouds glowing
rainbow colours
set on fire by spirit sun

forms morphing
elemental kaleidoscope
the shapes i see
self-expression
subject of my lens perception
showing me the symbols I need
to carry on…

Gorilla Dreams – A Poem Found by A Rabbit Hole – Redux

Ever feel like your spirit
echoes a sound that you
haven’t quite heard before

Like reading a book
for the fifth time
a new character enters
that has always belonged

New ideas wafting
their way home
the nest having been kept warm,
inviting and open to change

new directions given the prayer;
new games finding their player
new connections, new reflections
no piece of the puzzle exists as just blue sky…

See you in Wonderland

Quote of the Day – June 12 2012

“Sin lies only in hurting other people unnecessarily. All other “sins” are invented nonsense. (Hurting yourself is not a sin – just stupid.) ”
~Robert A. Heinlein

He should have known that the gun was loaded. When you ask someone what’s wrong sometimes they tell you. Well the question wasn’t what’s wrong it was far more leading than that. He had asked his friend “What has changed for you in the last month?” Well that and implied that his friend had been less than honest with himself and with his art. Rick acknowledged all of his points and then went on to describe in detail what had changed in the past month. How assumptions that he had carried around his whole life were shown to have no foundation, a literal interpretation of the Tower card tho in this case literally with no Star in sight.

From there he continued he went on to talk about his inability to show in his writing what was really going on in his head because of family concerns and from there went on to describe other ways he was living a lie in both his personal and expressive life. Well Samuel thought, he did ask…

Monday Mandalas

“The ‘squaring of the circle’ is one of the many archetypal motifs which form the basic patterns of our dreams and fantasies. But it is distinguished by the fact that it is one of the most important of them from the functional point of view. Indeed, it could even be called the archetype of wholeness.”

<h3>Natural Pleasures

Natural Pleasures

Hold my hand and
Let me taste of your willingness
as we eagerly  explore inner and outer beings
The music starts
We take the first steps moving in rhythm to a dance
older than our souls,
a dance not performed with limbs
or tongue or organs but with our very beings,
Masculine and Feminine energies
combining within ourselves and each other
a love letter written from eternity
to that which always was.

Quote of the Day – June 11 2012

““Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering its a feather bed.”
― Terence McKenna

Bits and Pieces tonight.. Random Thoughts… Wool gathering from the abyss…

NOW is the eternal Phoenix ever reborn from its own ashes as its consumed….
Universe, please let me be the person my friends on the internet believe me to be…
How Freudian is it that Jack had a beanstalk and Alice had a rabbit hole…Both of those are coming of age analogues as well as Campbell mono myths…and both involved either a climb or a leap of faith…

Sometimes the best way to clear your head is by breaking a taboo, even if its one of thought…What is it that you have been taught culturally or tribally not to think about or question? How does reality change for you if you question it? That in itself  becomes another rabbit hole or beanstalk trip doesn’t it?  And so the reality kaleidoscope turns…

Quotes of the Day – June 10 2012

“What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from.”
― T.S. Eliot

“Healing for me is being able to sit next to the butcher and say ‘Yes, I’m sitting next to the butcher now,’ instead of saying ‘there is no butcher’.”
― Tori Amos

Two very different quotes from T. S. Eliot and Tori Amos feels very appropriate to my evening. Mr. Eliot’s quote speaks of endings and beginnings and their interrelationship. After all every moment is the ending out our lives up to now and the beginning of what is to come.  As I have stated elsewhere I love crossroads and the thought that NOW is ever a crossroads becomes comforting to me. Always a new doorway beckons and the new universe next door is within reach. But then to bring in probably my third cliche in one paragraph (I don’t mind repeating cliches, most of them would not have become so without containing a modicum of wisdom) I get reminded that in order to truly begin anew I have to leave something behind.

Tori’s quote speaks of healing and naming our wounds for what they are. Acknowledging the butcher or the insecurities that keep us frozen in old patterns unable to move. Naming my wounds brings me one step closer to moving on. Mine of the evening are insecurity and lassitude. I need to give both up to go through the crossroads and find what I will.

Three of Swords-Redux

Separation

None that came
and took the hand
of sorrow’s separation
Bleeding heart releases tears
Not only bloody down
the cheek of one’s soul
but burning holes
in the fabric of real
exposing chaos

What can come
spring forth from loins
of chaos manifestation
Lovely monsters coming through
not only ravishing
the whole of being
but with ecstatic
terrible beauty
exhorting night

I didn’t want to know.
Separation hurts like hell
Still I go onward

Quote of the Day — June 9 2012

“I gave my life to become the person I am right now. Was it worth it?”
— Richard Bach

It must be worth it. After all, I now live my life to be not only the person I am but the person I will become. Every day life shows me new facets, endlessly fascinating. I find encouragement for my art and inspiration for my spirit. So much has life offered me and I only hope that I have given back. I guess the bottom line question is Have I given all I can to be the everything I can be?
